Technically, these are unscented. But to me, the smell a little earthy.

The cleanser doesn’t last as long as the moisturizer. That’s probably my bad as I do 2-3 pumps each time. <sheepish grin inserted here>
I met Dr. Sudhir Shah, the Founder of OM Botanical, when me, my older sister and her daughter attended a vegan food festival in Feb 2017. We stopped by his booth and he told us the story of why he started this skin care line. You can read the full story here. What sold me on trying his products was the fact that he ate it. LOL
Yes, you read that right.
He ate it.
He squirted a shot of the facial cleanser onto his finger and licked it off.
While that action totally squigged us out, it was an effective demonstration of the #1 reason the product is so unique: it’s so natural you can eat it.
I bought these in Feb 2017 at his booth.
I didn’t have to buy the moisturizer again until around August 2017. That shit lasted a long time, people. A little goes a long way because it’s so thick. The face cleanser, on the other hand, went quicker because I was doing 2-3 pumps at a time.
At one point, I ran out of the moisturizer and when I had to use something else, some other natural product, my face was all “What. The FUCK. Are You DOING, CeCe?! This is NOT the usual shit.”
As punishment, I got a zit right near the crease of my nose.
Basically, my face was throwing up the middle finger and telling me to get back on my routine or else. Yeah. I’ll get right on that.
I’ve used non-natural products, I’ve used “so-called” Aw Natural products, and I’ve done the whole cleanse-tone-moisturize routine.
I’m sticking with Om Botanical.
The cleanser takes care of everything. I no longer have to use toner. And I don’t break out.
I was checking out the one-star reviews of the cleanser on Amazon. The main con was the scent and one person complained that it didn’t provide a deep clean. To that, I say, go back to using your toxin-filled facial cleanser because clearly, that’s what you’re used to.
That’s what we’re all used to, right? We’re brainwashed into using products that contain some kind of synthetic “fragrance” or harsh little beads that scrub off a layer of your skin for that promised deep clean. Not throwing stones here (people are entitled to their opinions) because I was drinkin’ the Kool-Aid, too.
Until I went cold turkey.
Basically, what you’re smelling in Om Botanical’s facial cleanser is the ingredients.
In their natural form.
Not all prettied up. Yes, it looks like clay. It kinda smells like clay, too. But it’s not awful. I personally like the earthy scent. And your face is clean. To test it, I washed my face and then used some toner that I had left over.
And no, you’re not going to get a deep clean. Because it’s a “grit-free exfoliation.” About once a week, I use a face brush and BAM! there’s my deep clean. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy.
Overall, I LURVE these products and will never use anything else on my face. The cleanser is part of their anti-aging line, but not the moisturizer. I do plan to try the anti-aging moisturizer, though.
